RULES
With effect from October 1st 2009, the National Minimum
Wage will be: N.B. Some groups are exempt from the NMW. GBP = Pounds Sterling
for further information. Statutory payments* tend to increase each April and you
are advised to contact us for current rates and qualification rules.
As of 01 April 2009 the minimum holiday entitlement
companies must offer is 28 days per
annum including statutory holidays. These figures are based on working full time hours
across a 5 day
week and advice should be sought in calculating entitlement for part
time workers accurately.
It is illegal to discriminate on age at both ends of the
spectrum. This has a knock on effect for recruitment, redundancy,
grievance and disciplinary rights as well as birthday cards and
comments joking about peoples' ages. Qualifying mothers who were expected to give birth on or
after 1st April 2007 are entitled to up to 39 weeks Statutory Maternity
Pay*. Mutual agreement allows up to 10 Keep In Touch Days without
losing SMP. Regardless of length of service all expectant mothers are
entitled to Additional Maternity Leave. Are you confident in each of these areas? If not, |
